The wine trail of Alsace - la route des Vins d'Alsace

Nestled at the foot of the Vosges, a long multicolored and picturesque ribbon, the wine trail of Alsace, stretches between the mountains and the Rhine River, in a peacefull countryside, in a distance of about one hundred and seventy kilometers from Marlenheim to Thann.

You will pass through Alsace's picturesque and welcoming flowered villages rich in half-timbered houses and cross hillside vineyards,  medieval castles and ruins of the Middle Ages, visit the cellars of the local wine growers, enjoy excellent wines and alsatian gastronomy, discover historical and artistic inheritance.

You will find hereunder some of  the picturesques villages on the wine trail of Alsace:

  • Gueberschwihr medieval picturesque and peacefull village surrounded by wineyard and forest, magnificent church with his bell from the 12. C., classified site.
  • Eguisheim, old typical village, classified one of the most beautiful villages of France in 2003.
  • Kaysersberg, medieval village with a rich and varied historical and architectural Heritage: 15th, 16th and 17th century Gothic houses, ruins of his castle, bridge and old church.
  • Riquewhir, the jewel of the vineyard, 16th century houses.
  • Ribeauvillé, a beautiful town dominated by the 3 castles.
  • Bergheim, fortified village surrounded by wineyards.
  • Hunawhir, village surrounded by wineyards, a fortified church, half-timbered houses, his storks park.
  • Rouffach Numerous monuments and houses of Renaissance style with their famous gables stepped, the famous tower of witches.
  • Turckheim, visit his historical center, you can meet the Watchmann each evening at 22 o'clock from May to October during his Round of Night.
